Meet the Prototyping Studio Specialist 

Soroosh Hedayati supports the prototyping studio in Startup Tucson's Launch Lab. Best known as the founder and inventor of Micro Safari, Soroosh works with mixed mediums to create museum exhibits and consumer products that inspire a sense of curiosity and wonder. Soroosh's works can be found on display at CuriOdyssey, the premier children's science museum on the San Francisco Peninsula, Rethink Waste, a museum built to inspire and educate on practices of sustainability, and at the Tucson Children's Museum.

Meet the Media Studio Specialist 

Angelique Aubrahm McBee will support entrepreneurs in the media studio. She has been a successful entrepreneur as the founder of Aubrahm Photography for over 8 years. Previously, Angelique was a part of the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management as their Production Manager & Photographer. In her role at Startup Tucson she brings tactical expertise to help entrepreneurs bring their stories to life through rich content creation, marketing, and technology.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a cost to use the Launch Lab?

Launch Lab use is freely available to participants enrolled in the SPRINT Challenge program (with supplies and materials costs charged on a per use basis). Read more about elegibility and enrolling in the SPRINT Challenge programs at

Do I need prior experience to use the equipment in the Launch Lab?

Once accepted to the SPRINT Challenge Program, the Launch Lab is available for all types of users, ranging from beginner to expert. Supervision and training (provided by Startup Tucson) will be required to use certain equipment. Additionally, all users will have to agree to the Lab terms and conditions.

Am I responsible for materials costs?

It depends on the materials or supplies and quantity used. Startup Tucson will have some materials and supplies on-site that may be utlized by program participants. Projects will be weighted/measured upon completition and participants will be required to pay for the cost of the materials used. Other small projects/items are included in participant general use of the Lab. Startup Tucson encourages participants to bring their own project specific supplies for larger projects. When you request access to the Launch Lab, you will work with a Project Coordinator and Specialist to determine your lab needs, what materials you will require and an approximate cost.

What are the hours of the Launch Lab?

Currently, the hours for the Launch Lab are Monday - Thursday, 10am - 4pm, by appointment only. Once enrolled, there is currently no limit to the number of hours each participant company can use the Lab.
