Let me put you back in the loop with another #StartupScoop! This week we announce the official opening of the IdeaFunding Pitch Competition! Get ready...get set....go! Pitch your venture for a chance to win $25,000 at IdeaFunding, a part of TENWEST Impact Festival in October.
IdeaFunding is Arizona's second largest pitch competition, giving over $100,000 of non-dilutive funds and services to Arizona startup teams each year. It is a signature event of TENWEST Impact Festival.
Up-and-coming startup companies (those that have less than $500,000 of investment to date) have the opportunity to compete for $25,000 cash prize--presented by UA Venture Capital--through a brief, "shark tank style" pitch. The application has opened TODAY and closes August 26th!
We are inviting companies from many industry verticals to apply including BioTech, Consumer Products, SaaS, Retail/Fashion, and Food Startups! Even if your company is not selected to pitch on the Main Stage, up to 20 companies will be invited to pitch in industry specific rooms for up to $5,000 in cash and services prizes.
One of the unique benefits of the IdeaFunding Pitch Competition is the intensive, incredibly valuable pitch training teams receive. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in two Elimination Rounds that include hands-on training, in additional to a final round of training for the finalists to refine and hone their craft. Pitch training is made possible through the generous sponsorship of our partner UA Center for Innovation.

Adelante Arizona Prize
Currently in the US, investments in women and minority owned companies are 80 percent lower than the median investment in businesses overall. This means that women and minority owned companies face more hurdles in growing and building their companies. Through the Adelante Prize at IdeaFunding, TENWEST wants to bring attention to this issue and highlight the incredibly talented women and minority founders contributing to the vibrant startup ecosystem in Arizona. In addition to a cash prize, the winning team will receive mentoring, goods and services, and connections and introductions to help accelerate the growth of their company valuing up to $5,000.
