About the Event

Getting organized with your business finances can be one of the more stressful tasks for founders; What do you need to track? How do you document? How do you know what you are making? Where are you leaving money on the table?

In intro to Business Finances you will cover the basics of setting up clear, organized financial systems. Everything you need, nothing you don't.

The course will cover:

  • Profit & Loss Statements
  • Balance Sheets

You’ll learn how to read each of these documents and to prepare simple ones for your business.  You’ll also learn how to use these documents to run your business and gain an understanding of why they’re important when seeking financing (e.g. a loan, investor, etc.)

The course is delivered lecture style, with individual and group activities sprinkled throughout, making it an interactive experience that incorporates multiple modes of learning.

About The Instructor & CIC

Nick Henry is the Director of Community Lending & Impact at Community Investment Corporation (CIC), a southern Arizona-based non-profit providing alternative financing to the business community.  CIC does all of its lending in house, which means each lending team member has a working knowledge of business finance.  This course was developed iteratively and collaboratively by CIC staff, whose backgrounds comprise banking, finance, math, and education.  As the lead in developing this course, Nick is excited to share it with you!

Free until the class is scheduled.
