Pima CommunityShare partners with Startup Tucson for Student Participation in TENWEST

October 16, 2023 (Tucson, Ariz.) – More than 100 high school Juniors and Seniors throughout Tucson will participate in the TENWEST Impact Festival’s Creativity Day this November thanks to a partnership with Pima CommunityShare and Startup Tucson.

Founded in 2015, TENWEST, an event of Startup Tucson, is a celebration of the growing innovation, creative and entrepreneurial ecosystems in Southern Arizona. Taking place November 4-10, the festival showcases the connectivity between technology, entrepreneurship, creativity, culture, and impact, uniting attendees to gain the knowledge and inspiration they need to innovate within their own careers and communities. This year, during the Creativity Day of the conference on November 8, students are being invited to participate and explore an array of creative content careers that aren’t always seen inside the

classroom.

“We hope by inviting the young community of Tucson to participate in TENWEST, we can help them identify passions, inspirations, alternative routes to success, and ultimately, joy of life,” said Matt Baquet, an organizer with TENWEST. The Creativity Day will feature sessions on audio recording with Tucson company Cloud Microphones, creative writing, maker spaces with UA’s CATalyst team, media, content creation and branding, selling your art, and more. Keynotes for the day include Joe O’Connel of Creative Machines, one of Tucson’s best-kept creative secrets, and a session with Jenny of international band Jenny and the Mexicats and Silvana Estrada.

Schools throughout Pima County will have the option for eligible Juniors and Seniors to join the Creativity Day sessions free of charge and immerse their students in this interactive and unique experience. This experience is made possible thanks to TENWEST’s title sponsor Arizona Commerce Authority. To learn more, visit www.tenwest.com or email Brandon Mejia and Liz Pocock if your school is interested in participating.
