FUNDING

While many startups choose to bootstrap their business, some founders require access to capital to build and grow their businesses.

Startup Tucson and our partners offer a variety of opportunities to connect promising businesses with capital.

Pitch competition

Each year Startup Tucson gives away thousands of dollars to early stage companies through our signature event, IdeaFunding Pitch Competition, a part of TENWEST Impact Festival.  Companies deliver a 5 minute pitch of their business or idea to a panels of qualified judges, going head to head for cash prizes ranging between $25,000 and $5,000.

Pitch prize money is a great opportunity for each-stage founders as it is non-dilutive and can be used flexibly for whatever the company needs.

Crowdfunding

crowdfunding

Startup Tucson and the Community Investment Corporation have teamed up to offer local startups access to various types of crowdfunding.  Crowdfunding can be a good option for some startups looking for seed funding for their company.  There are two main types of crowdfunding -- equity-based and non-equity based. We have an official partnership with WeFunder (equity-based) and we are a certified Kiva partner (non-equity based).

Our team provides startups with tools and resources to plan and launch a successful campaign on whichever platform is best for you.
